Andy Nauman
SEM Manager
Andy broke into the marketing field in late 2000, working for an annuities firm in Michigan. Finally getting tired of the snow, he moved to Florida in 2004, continuing as an in-house Marketing Director for another financial services group. Seeing that traditional marketing was dying, Andy focused his creativity on learning Photoshop, quickly followed by basic web design and the beginnings of SEO.
With the flourishing of Social Media, Andy developed campaigns targeting this market along with custom Facebook pages and applications. Today he heads up the Search Engine Marketing team at AppSoft, using the social web to drive business to our clients. Andy lives in St. Augustine with his wife and three children.
Christian Jorn
Director of Search Marketing
Co-Founder and former President of Jorn & Price Marketing, Christian is the inventor of the web infrastructure and innovative link building strategies used by JP Marketing to take over and control the most profitable and competitive key search terms for Ford, Honda, Toyota and Chevrolet in major markets such as Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Jacksonville and Thousand Oaks CA.
An alumni of the University of Florida, Christian is an avid golfer and a proven leader. The cutting edge of the wild wild web is where Christian lives his life; at AppSoft Development, he thrives in both a research and a production environment and has brought a wealth of knowledge and life experience into an already world class team of experts that make up the heart of AppSoft Development.
Dave Freeman
Director of Copywriting
A graduate of University of Georgia’s School of Journalism, Dave’s first real job was in newspaper. As an editor and later general manager in the New York Times regional newspaper group, he became active in community affairs and served on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce for Amelia Island. Dave later joined Paul Davis Systems, a Fortune Magazine Top 50 franchising company, as vice president and Director of Franchise Development for the $250 million a year insurance restoration company. During his tenure, Dave served on the Executive Committee, President’s Council and managed national programs for dispute arbitration, software systems development and behavioral assessment. In the mid-90s, Dave left to develop real estate in central Georgia.
In 2008, he showed up on AppSoft’s doorsteps and has been hanging around ever since. When he’s not writing killer web copy, Dave can usually be found at the racetrack running data acquisition software and tuning carburetors for a national race team.
Devan Stuart
SEM Copywriter / Blogger
Devan Stuart is a five-time Florida Press Association Award winner and freelance correspondent for People magazine, Chicago Sun Times, Suite101.com and the Associated Press. She has produced live TV news programs; feature packages for the Jacksonville Jaguars broadcast team; documentary projects, and corporate and promotional videos for major name clients. As a journalist, she has interviewed dozens of notables, from pop starlet Jessica Simpson to Evangelist Billy Graham to famed Forensic Scientist / Medical Examiner Michael Baden to the family of a downed World War II airman discovered frozen in the icy reaches of a Sierra Nevada glacier.
Devan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in communications from the University of North Florida in 1996 and has continued studies at UCLA, the Poynter Institute, Media Bistro and the Southern Newspapers Association. She lives in Jacksonville, Fla. with her son and four rescued pups.
John Widdows
President / CEO
John Widdows has over 30 years of experience in the Computer Information Technology industry. As the founder and CEO of AppSoft Development Inc., John is applying his expertise in leadership, sales training and customer relationship management. John has achieved advancements in the management of product services, operational development, strategic marketing and team building. In addition, John combines his years of understanding technology and applying marketing strategies to increase his customers’ return on investment. John also served as a Regional SR Manager with Giga information Group and Forrester Research. Forrester Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: FORR) is an independent research company that provides pragmatic and forward-thinking advice to global leaders in business and technology. John served as Vice President Of Sales & Marketing for Baywood Technologies, a Software Development, Training and IT Outsourcing firm, where he was responsible for company revenue, new product rollouts, marketing and strategic business development relationships. John has also served as founder and CEO of Megabytes Computer Centers of Florida, a retail computer chain for 13 years.
Justin Shannon
Senior Web Developer
Forged in a “mary land,” Justin’s technological spirit and drive grew to fruition through hours of video games and discovering the internet through AOL free trial CDs. He moved from Maryland to Florida at 18 to finish up high school and figure out where to take his love of “all things tech.”
Justin eventually graduated from the University of North Florida despite years of social and educational faux pas. He now continues his fascination with the web by developing part of it on a daily basis here at AppSoft. He describes his life as blessed, his family as beautiful and his job as fascinating.
Matthew Taylor
Vice-President of Development
Matthew was born and raised in Alabama where he graduated from the University of North Alabama with a B.A. in Communications. During this time Matthew developed a passion for video production and all things web. After working with a couple advertising agencies Matthew moved to Jacksonville and joined the Appsoft team in 2009.
Rachel Kuncicky
Director of Project Management
Rachel, a native Floridian and proud Gator alum, worked for years in Video Production and TV/Radio communications before joining AppSoft in April of 2009. With strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a wide range of experience in the communications field, she is uniquely prepared to handle all aspects of Project Management. Rachel works with new and existing clients on all aspects of their web project from initial concept and proposal to go live. As the wand is passed from Development to SEO, she works with the client and SEO Team to set and evaluate goals, provide training and communicate any needed updates.
Rachel has a B.S. in Telecommunication (with a Minor in Business Administration) from the University of Florida. She is a devoted superfan of The Office, active member of Awaken Church and is currently working towards mastering the “Expert” level in Guitar Hero.
