Using Digital Marketing To Reach Your Target Audience
April 7,2017
As society constantly evolves, so does marketing and how companies view marketing. Over the past 15 years, standard marketing platforms, such as, television, radio, and newspaper ruled how companies decided to promote their products and services. Companies started to market on a mass scales leaving little room for small businesses to grow. This is no longer the case. With the emergence of social media and different marketing platforms, companies are starting to rethink the way they market to consumers. They now focus on target marketing and social platforms.
The idea of target marketing is still a relatively new concept but one in which more companies are seeing the greatest return. Target marketing aims to capture specific demographics such as age, gender, social economic status, and race. The idea behind this concept is companies want to eliminate those consumers whom hold no interest in their product or service. They would rather spend their advertising and marketing budget on consumers of interest. As well as, the target audience.
Now you might be asking, what does this have do with digital marketing? Well companies are using target marketing mostly through the internet and social media platforms to gain consumer's attention. With studies now showing how often consumers spend on digital platforms, companies are using more digital platforms such as Google Adwords, Facebook, Google Display Network, to promote their business. With advertising budgets being spent targeting specific consumers, companies are seeing a greater return on their advertising investment.
With digital marketing being opened to all companies and with some social media platforms being a free form of advertising. We are now seeing a greater growth of small businesses than we have ever seen before.
Digital marketing is still ever growing and is going to play an even bigger role in the future. Having a strong digital and social presence is essential in today's business society.
